Another Roasting Day

Anomali ada blog nih! hehehe, kampung nih gw, jarang2 nulis beginian but here it goes…

Irvan pergi ke bali dari tanggal 22 kemaren, Cafe punya gw seorang, how cool is dat?!!! hehehe…kebetulan hari minggu kemaren we ran out of Linthong and Toraja coffees, so i roasted 4 kg of Linthong and 3 kg of Toraja..it was a lot of fun! Early in the morning there was this guy (i think he’s somewhere from Oz) he had a double shot espresso (yup..double!) and later on the afternoon he came back with his girlfriend, Louis (who actually live in Jakarta) just as i was about to start roasting, and they stayed and watched the whole roasting process, the girlfriend said ” that was the best cup of espresso i’ve had since i’ve been here!, i’ve looked everywhere for a decent cup of espresso and what do you know it’s just around the corner” (fyi she had 4 shots of espresso and she’s been here since Feb ’07) and the guy (forgot his name..sorry) also said the same thing!, he had 6 shots of espresso. I was so estatic to have heard that! Gak banyak orang kite yang pesen espresso paling banyak ya dari orang-orang bule itu..hehehe, but it’s okay because espresso is like their morning ritual, they got up, got dressed and walks to near by coffee house for a shot of espresso to save the day, hehehe..ya mereka enak ye trotoar lebar2 layak untuk jalan, lah kita?! hehehe..

The Linthong and Toraja turned out great, their first crack was identical (around 195 C), 16-18 minutes, the colors were even and there were no burnt beans, it was a lot of fun because i did them myself, so i had to watch the timer, adjust the burner and played a bit with the temperature, but i haven’t got the chance to cup them, tunggu Irvan balik dulu deh…
